Bandai is taking the ONE PIECE Card Game back to the sea where everything began. Revealed on November 6, 2026 during the publisher's special ONE PIECE Card Game broadcast, EAST BLUE [EB-06] is the sixth Extra Booster of the game and its most openly nostalgic release to date. The Japanese edition hits shelves on January 30, 2027, with the English version scheduled for the same week.
The official pitch fits in two sentences. Bandai calls it "the sixth Extra Booster themed on the East Blue", and invites players to "strengthen all kinds of decks with the characters from the sea where the adventure began". No new mechanic, no new faction, no new arc: just the islands and the villains that turned a boy in a straw hat into the most famous pirate in manga history.

The Japanese EB-06 display: Luffy, arms raised on the deck of a ship, with Shanks behind him.
The packaging alone tells the story. On the front of the sky-blue display, a young Monkey D. Luffy throws both fists in the air on the deck of a ship, while Shanks stands in the background. It is the image of chapter one, the day the red-haired pirate left his hat with a child from Foosha Village, and it sets the tone for the whole set. The box also confirms the format printed on every Japanese display: 67 different cards plus one, six cards per pack, twenty-four packs per box. Two new illustrations were shown during the broadcast, the first glimpse of what the artwork will look like.
For readers who started ONE PIECE in the late nineties or the early 2000s, the East Blue is not a setting, it is a memory. Romance Dawn and the promise to Shanks. Shells Town, where Zoro was tied to a post in the sun and Coby dreamed of joining the Marines. Orange Town and Buggy the Clown. Syrup Village, Usopp's lies and Captain Kuro's betrayal. The Baratie, Sanji's debt to Zeff, Don Krieg's starving armada and the duel in which Zoro lost to Mihawk and swore he would never lose again. Arlong Park, where Nami finally asked for help and Luffy placed his hat on her head. And Loguetown, the town where Gol D. Roger was executed, Smoker's first chase and the storm that pushed the Going Merry towards the Grand Line. A full Extra Booster built on these chapters is a direct appeal to an entire generation of fans.
The design choice is also sound from a gameplay perspective. The "East Blue" type has been part of the ONE PIECE Card Game since its early sets, printed on many characters from the first arcs, and Bandai's own wording insists on strengthening a wide range of existing decks rather than building one new archetype from scratch. Distributor information for the set points to the classic Extra Booster structure: one brand-new Leader, Commons, Rares, Super Rares, a single Secret Rare and a line of Special cards with a new design described as nostalgic. As in every Extra Booster, there are no Uncommons. In practice, that format has a track record of reviving Leaders that had quietly dropped out of the competitive scene, and EB-06 looks built to do exactly that.

EB-06 EAST BLUE, Japanese edition: 24 packs of 6 cards per display.
The real question for collectors is which characters will get the premium treatment. Bandai has not published the card list yet, and nothing beyond the box art and the two illustrations has been shown. The precedent, however, is encouraging. EB-04 Egghead Crisis, released in Japan in January 2026, became known for its manga alternate art Koby, one of the most sought-after cards of its year, and the two Heroines editions turned Nami, Robin and Hancock into genuine chase cards. A nostalgic Special card line built around Luffy, the original Straw Hat crew or Shanks in the early days of the story has every chance of becoming one of the hits of 2027. Sealed Japanese displays from popular Extra Boosters also tend to hold their value well once the first print run is gone, which makes EB-06 as interesting to keep sealed as it is to open.
EB-06 lands in the middle of a crowded schedule. OP-18 The Dominance of God opens the run on November 21, EB-06 follows on January 30, the main booster OP-19 Respond, World! closes the Egghead arc on February 27, and the brand-new Premium Extra Booster PEB-01 arrives on April 24. The same broadcast also announced two new starter decks, one built around the princess of the desert and her pirate allies, the other dedicated to Baroque Works. Taken together, the announcements make it clear that early 2027 will lean heavily on the first half of the story, and EAST BLUE is the clearest expression of that direction.
The Japanese edition of EB-06 EAST BLUE is now listed at JapHunter as a single display, a bundle of two or three displays, or a factory-sealed case of twelve boxes, imported directly from Japan and shipped from Switzerland after the Japanese release. We will update this article as soon as Bandai reveals the new Leader, the Special cards and the first chase cards. In the meantime, the full range is available on our One Piece pre-orders page, alongside our Japanese One Piece displays and our One Piece graded cards. More than 10,000 collectors already trust JapHunter, with an average rating of 4.9 out of 5. Nearly thirty years after the first chapter, the East Blue is calling again.
